Love Letters: Fifty Years. Two Lives. One Story.
Love Letters by A. R. Gurney is a witty, heartfelt, and Pulitzer Prize-nominated play that follows the lifelong relationship between Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III through a lifetime of letters, notes, and cards. From childhood innocence to adult dreams, disappointments, and everything in between, their written words reveal a bond that is tender, complicated, and unforgettable—spanning nearly 50 years.
This special Main Street Theatre production features a beautifully simple staged reading format, with the actors seated side-by-side and reading directly from the script, allowing the emotion, humor, and intimacy of the story to take center stage. It’s a timeless reminder of the power of love, connection, and the written word.
Starring Main Street Theatre veterans Betty Birdwell and Rusty Henderson.
Tickets are $12 in advance at www.plmst.org/loveletters or $15 at the door.
